The BMW M3 Challenge is a fast-paced racing game ideal for the BMW enthusiast.
BMW M3 Challenge blends white-knuckle racing excitement with an exceptionally rendered digital format. With smooth movements and the ability to customise this stunning vehicle in a number of different colours, this platform is a definite must-have for anyone who is a racing enthusiast or simply a fan of beautiful cars in general. Interestingly enough, BMW M3 Challenge was first released in September of 2007. Despite its relative age in relation to other games, the thrills and chills to be enjoyed are not to be missed. It is also worth mentioning that this game is absolutely free.
Details and More Details
It can be argued that the best aspect of this game is the amount of work that the designers put into the details of the vehicle itself. In many ways, the graphics enable the player to feel as if he or she is truly behind the wheel of this high-octane beast. The exterior is undeniably sleek and sophisticated, but many more points are scored when glancing at the interior. It appears as if nothing has been left to chance in terms of the dials, gauges, the dashboard and the overall internal ambiance.
Staying true to form, it only makes sense that a BMW M3 would be raced on what is thought to be the most famous track in the world. The settings within Nürburgring are nothing less than spectacular; the programmers putting just as much time in their attention to its detail. Boasting everything from corporate-sponsored billboards to the fans themselves, there is little left to the imagination. However, some have observed that BMW G3 Challenge is a platform to advertise the car and its sponsors. There can be times when one feels as if he or she is driving for a commercial as opposed for their own pleasure.
There have been a few complaints in regards to how the M3 handles. Some state that an analogue control is the best to use. This is nonetheless debatable and will primarily revolve around the preferences of the player. Other options such as anti-lock brakes and traction control will add to the realism of the game although it must be said that as this track is the only one available to be played, its curves can become predictable after a while.
Perhaps the biggest criticism is that the player can ONLY choose the BMW model M3. Unlike other racing games, there are no additional vehicles to unlock as one progresses through the levels. As mentioned previously, the game can be a bit boring for those who are searching for a change of scenery. A final aspect worth mentioning is that some players have stated that the online connection speed can be a bit frustrating. Whether this is due to a glitch in the game or the operating system of a specific computer has not yet been determined. All of these should be taken with a proverbial grain of salt when we consider that BMW M3 Challenge is more than eight years old.
BMW M3 Challenge is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista. 512 megabytes of RAM and 64 megabytes of video memory are required. It is also recommended to have at least 500 megabytes of hard drive space. It will operate best with a Pentium 4 processor or higher. To summarise, what are some of the advantages and disadvantages of this game?
- Detailed graphics
- Smooth racing
- May be repetitive
- Only one car to choose from
